Medical Certification
Customers who meet eligibility requirements set by the Commission will not be disconnected during the months of November through March. Eligibility requirements include all of the following:
- That a member of the customer’s household is either handicapped or elderly (65 years of age or older), or both.
- That the customer is unable to pay for such service in full or through a reasonable installment agreement designed to bring your account into balance.
- That the household is certified by the local social service office that administers the Energy Crisis Assistance Program or other similar programs as being eligible (whether funds are then available or not) to receive assistance under such programs.

To apply:
- Complete the Medical Certification form, which you can request by calling us at 800.752.7504.
- Double check that your physician has completed the form in full.

In addition, customers who meet medical requirements will not be disconnected during the months of November through March if a customer or a member of their household at the premises to which service is rendered can furnish to the utility no less than three days prior to termination of service a “Medical Certification” form provided by the utility and signed by a licensed physician that termination of electric service would be especially dangerous to such person’s health.
