Our new bill is designed with you in mind

We’re simplifying the design of your monthly natural gas bill to help you better understand your energy usage and make doing business with us even easier.

More about your new bill

We are in the process of modernizing our technology to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Our simplified natural gas bill is just one of many steps we are taking to improve your experience.


Based on feedback we received from customers, we updated the bill with a modern look and made it easier to view and understand energy usage. All residential and most business customers will begin receiving the redesigned bill this summer.


What’s changed?

While the bill has a new look, it includes the same helpful information you’re accustomed to seeing. The following enhancements are applicable to bills for both residential and business customers:

  • A simple two-column layout features billing information and bill-related messages.
  • The use of color, bold text and icons emphasize key information.
  • A color bar graph displays the average daily temperature for cooler months.
  • A comparison chart illustrates natural gas usage data.
  • Bills may have additional line items or messages for customers who take advantage of additional products and services.

New Bill

  • Yes. How you pay your bill is your choice. We offer a variety of convenient ways to pay, which can be found on the back of your bill or by visiting piedmontng.com/billing.

  • The simplified redesigned bill will replace the current bill format and we will be unable to accommodate requests to receive the old format. You can obtain previous bills, which will retain the old format, by signing in to your online account or by calling customer service.

  • The bill is not available in Spanish, but bilingual representatives are available to assist Spanish-speaking customers.

Paperless Billing

  • Yes, you’ll notice some changes to your Paperless Billing email notification. We have streamlined the email so you can see the information you need at a glance. For those with an online profile, you’ll see a link to sign in and view a PDF of your bill, plus manage your account, make a payment, etc. For those without an online profile, a PDF of your bill will be attached to the email and password-protected with your ZIP code.

  • Due to upcoming system changes, you are unable to be enrolled in both eBill through your bank and Paperless Billing through Piedmont. If you are currently enrolled in both programs, you’ll be unenrolled in Paperless Billing through Piedmont when we make system changes this summer. You’ll receive communications from us about this change before that occurs.

  • When we make system changes, accounts that are linked to an online profile, are associated with the same email address, and bill on the same day will be grouped together on the same Paperless Billing email notification. If you do not have an online profile, you will receive a Paperless Billing email notification for each individual account. We encourage customers with multiple accounts to sign up for an online profile to better manage their accounts, including the ability to pay up to 30 accounts at once.
