Piedmont, Duke Seek Proposals to Build Second Pipeline into N.C.
CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 1, 2014 - Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK) and Piedmont Natural Gas(NYSE: PNY) this week will jointly issue a solicitation for proposals to build and operate a second major wholesale natural gas pipeline into North Carolina to meet growing demand for the fuel in the Carolinas and possibly surrounding states.
John W. Harris Retires from Piedmont Natural Gas Board
CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 24, 2014 - Thomas E. Skains, Chairman, President and CEO of Piedmont Natural Gas (NYSE: PNY) today announced the retirement of John W. Harris from the Board effective March 25, 2014. Mr. Harris, a longtime business leader in the Charlotte region with far-ranging business interests and a long history of civic service, has decided to retire from the Board in order to devote more time to his other business and civic activities. Mr. Harris has been a member of Piedmont’s Board since 1997 and is currently the Chair of the Board’s Finance Committee and is also a member of the Board’s Directors and Corporate Governance Committee. Mr. Harris has also served as Chair of the Board’s Compensation Committee.
Piedmont Increases Dividend for 36th Consecutive Year
CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 6, 2014 - The Board of Directors of Piedmont Natural Gas (NYSE: PNY) today approved an increase in the Company's dividend for the 36th consecutive year. At its regularly scheduled meeting, the Board declared a quarterly dividend on Common Stock of 32 cents per share, up 3.2% from the previous quarterly dividend of 31 cents per share. The increased dividend is payable April 15, 2014, to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 25, 2014.
Muriel W. Sheubrooks Retires from Piedmont Natural Gas Board
CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 6, 2014 - Thomas E. Skains, Chairman, President and CEO of Piedmont Natural Gas (NYSE: PNY) announced the retirement of Muriel W. Sheubrooks from the Board at today's Annual Meeting of Shareholders. Ms. Sheubrooks has been a member of Piedmont's Board since 1993 and served as Chair of the Board's Benefits Committee and as a member of the Audit Committee. She retired effective today pursuant to the Company's director retirement policy.
Piedmont Vice President Warfield to Retire At End of Fiscal Year
CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 6, 2014 - Piedmont Natural Gas (NYSE: PNY) today announced that Ranelle Q. Warfield, Vice President of Customer Service, will be retiring from the Company on October 31, 2014 after 33 years of service with Piedmont. Ms. Warfield, who began her career at Piedmont Natural Gas in 1981 in the Company's sales organization, rose to the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing in August 2004 before being named to her current position in Customer Service in October 2009. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Ms. Warfield has been active in various industry and community organizations throughout her career and currently serves on the boards of the Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation and the March of Dimes – Greater Piedmont.
Piedmont Named Platinum-Level AHA Start! Fit-Friendly Company
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 4, 2014 - Piedmont Natural Gas (NYSE: PNY) announced today that it has been recognized as a Platinum-Level Start! Fit-Friendly Company by the American Heart Association (AHA) for the fifth consecutive year. The Platinum-Level award is the highest level of recognition in the AHA’s Start! Program. In 2013, less than 300 organizations in the country achieved the Platinum-Level designation.
Frigid Temperatures Lead to Record Sendouts for Piedmont
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 14, 2014 - Piedmont Natural Gas (NYSE: PNY) today announced that it delivered a record volume of natural gas for a 24-hour period on January 7, 2014, to customers in the Company’s three-state service area of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
